Today's events

Well, today I received my Pur Minerals Starter Kit, from Ulta.com. The color is a bit light for me without any blush or bronzer to tone it down. I like the coverage which can range from light to medium- without a primer. In the package I received some samples of Smashbox Photo Finish foundation Primer and Pur Minerals color-correcting foundation primer plus Ojon Hair restoritive treatment. I will try the foundation out with both primers and see which one held up best. I've used the Ojon on two previous occasions and it smells likes nuts, or more like nature? Anyway it made my hair really shiny and smooth but the smell didn't go away. At least I don't remember it going away, so I will refresh my memory of it later this week!

Today the husband and I went out into town so we could just get out of the house. Instead of going to Zushi, we went to Hakkei which is one of the stops on the train going toward Yokosuka from where I live. On our way out of the train station(eki) there was a shrine, an awesome looking building, another shrine and a Daiei mall. So we went to the mall fisrt and had lunch then looked around in the Daiso 100yen store. Got a few things here and there including dinner, which was Kare raisu or Curry Rice. We bought some curry but me being forgetful and all only picked up one packet, which isn't enough curry for a full serving for both of us but we made due. After Daiei, we stopped at the shrine ( jinga) and took some pictures.

Here they are

My Christmas

Well my Xmas was pretty rad I must say, started with my making breakfast. Chocolate chip Pancakes. YUM! Then many calls from the family of course. Had the longest conversation with my brother on the phone every in the history of our life. Which in my opinion is pretty awesome. Considering before I left we didn't speak too much about anything for that matter. Don't get me wrong we talked and stuff but not for like hours and such.. anyway back on track. Gotta call from my buddy Nina asking if the hubby and I would like to have Xmas dinner with them which was delicious. A Christmas Ham, corn, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, applesauce, cherry pie and a good time. Well I knew Nina and her husband had a Wii so we brought some games over and ended up playing Super Smash Brothers Brawl for about 5 hours straight! fun indeed. Well here are just some pics of the occasion- most are of me and Nina cuz we are camwhores!!! hahahha

pics of the past- mainly last months happenings

Well first off, tomorrow we pick up our car!! Excited, yes. Terrified, also yes.

Since as of right now I am the only one with a valid license I will be the one who has to drive it home. That being said, the car is on the main base. I do not live on the main base. So I will have to drive it off base to my house through many tiny scary streets filled with tons of people and the ever popular bicyclist and people on mopeds. Let's not forget the fact that I barely know my way around ON base let alone off of it!?!?!?! I have instructions and I will have my husband so I shall hope for the best. The worst thing that could happen is we get lost, but I can always ask somebody how to get here!! better yet a police officer!! they go above and beyond for you out here, another reason why I love it.

Now onto some pics.

household goods

Well, Monday morning bright and early my stuff arrived! Which to say the least sort of surprised me in a good way. Last shipment we received didn't arrive til maybe 11-11:45 am. Whereas this shipment was delivered promptly at 8:45am. Everything was moving smoothly and they we're done by 11. But, one of my shoes is missing and the same goes for husband as well except to right shoes are missing. weird. Also a box was missing from the shipment list. Safe to say I was livid, because the box in question held all of my anime ,movies and some video games as well. So, after about an hour or so of being pissed off I decided to start cleaning up the place and putting things where they needed to be. In the process of cleaning, low and behold the missing box!!!! It was hiding in a rubbermaid tote, under all the other empty rubbermaid totes. So when I started moving them into the storage closet, and realised this 'empty' tote was effin heavy, tada !! MY SHIT!!!

Here is a pic of me and my friend Laura from the Airport Observitory

I will try and put up pics from my previous post asap, no promises when they will show up, just hopefully soon ^_^

been gone for a minute

o hisashiburi minna san! gomen nasai!

Its been a while everyone, im sorry =_=

Well I haven't died, just got lazy about blogging. Not gonna lie about it.
But I have been doing things while out here in this crazy country! In no particular order I:

Made lots of friends- From AOB/IRC
Went to a free concert- Smashmouth
Went to Chinatown in Yokohama
Made more friends
Explored Yokohama- found some cool yet expensive buildings
Had Japanese Mexican food
Had REAL Ramen- none of that prepacked college food ya heard!!
Had Curry Rice topped with Ton Katsu( fried pork cutlet)
Went to amazing restaurants without breaking the bank
GOT MY HUBBY HOME!!!
Got some early Xmas presents
Needs a new camera- mine died =__= and the base wont fix it
Got a cat- shall introduce Lilly shortly
Will have her furniture on Monday- bout damn time!!
Saw her amazing buddies the day after Turkey Day- HEY LAURA!! HEY SKY!!
Got to chat with the lovely miss FlyMamaL- www.ladylonline.blogspot.com

There is so much more but my mind can't get it all out at one time right now.
I have a few pics on my computer already but there are so many more to come that are on my phone since my camera decided to die- but I don't get service in my house long enough to send them to myself so I have to try to remember when I'm out on the train or something.

Lilly is a cute white and gray cat that I adopted on base from the shelter P.A.W.S- pets are worth saving- and when she was found she was slightly feral- afraid of human contact, nothing like rabies or anything- and small. With a few months of foster care she became eligible for adoption, although she still takes a bit longer to warm up to someone new. With that the shelter allowed me to take her home for a foster period of one month that could be extended due to her extreme shyness. The month is almost over and we plan to extend it a little further just so we can be sure she can adjust ok seeing as how my husband came home only a week ago, and soon our furniture will be switched out and her living situation will change again. Thats alot for a lil kitty like her to take in! But she has come a long way from the first night she came home, we can pet her for extended periods of time and get some nice purring action from her lol. Also she will eat from our hands and will play and sleep in front of us. The next milestone is to be able to pick her up without her freaking out!

This is Lilly

10/19/08 haul,n more

well I haven't actually been to busy, just really lazy on the blogging. I had dinner at cindy's the other night, she made sukiyaki which was delicious by the way. But on to today, I got off my lazy bum and decided to not mope around missing my husband, missing my stuff that still has yet to get here, eating everything in sight, and generally living through the internet- yet I wasn't blogging.. So I went into Zushi again but this time on my own. I hit the drugstore that was right in the station. H.A.C drug I think it was called. There I picked up rosy rosa eyelashes and glue and a bottel of Cleansing Express Sebum cleansing lotion plus a pack of Skilabo pore strips. that set me back about 1800 yen. Then I headed down to King 100yen store where I got a shower curtain and shower hooks, more eyelashes and a mini eyelash curler similar to the shu uemura eyelash curler, which set me back about 400 yen- duh! After that I made my way down to the other 100yen store which I believe is a Daiso if my katakana skills are correct! There I got a 100pack of fake nails, nail glue , nail buffer, nail art, and nail polish which was about 500 yen. my final stop of the afternoon and my favorite was the bakery!! OMG I got the most scrumcious strawberry cake I've ever tasted. It was making love to my mouth I swear!! Its not like your typical strawberry cake. It was light and airy, tart, sweet all at the same time. The frosting isn't overwhelmingly sweet like with most grocery store cakes nor is it as thick. The slice was just the perfect size as well and only 330 yen!! Just another place to take my husband when he gets back! Well I will have to let you all go for now gotta go and try out my new stuff!!

zushi city

Where I live there is a town nearby thats called zushi. I decided today since it was such a nice day, why not? well apparently so did cindy because she met up with me there about 20 mins after I got there! Totally grateful!!! I was in the wrong area for shopping when she called so I headed back to station. After a little bit we found eachother, I was at the south exit near the beach and she was at the north by the shopping district. So I made my way north and we first stopped at a 100yen store. My new favorite place! I had been searching and searching on my own for one and she brought me to the perfect one. I got tons of stuff for my house for 945yen!! thats like 8.50 dollars!!! Then she took me to another 100yen store and I got dishes and stuff. Its hard starting out with nothing....
Anyway so we then continue to wander past grocery stores bakeries and all kinds of stuff! We actually stopped at a grocery and she picked up some stuff for Nabe- or hot pot meal. Then we went back to the first 100yen store because right next to it was some other store that had the floor cleaner that I needed. Cindy was soo nice, I didn't anticapate all these purchases so she ended up helping me pay for alot of stuff! I totally apreaciate it! she's been one of the biggest helps I've had out here, seeing as my sponsor up and dissapeared the night I arrived... but thats another story. Well we headed back to base and I picked up a ricecooker because I don't have any appliances nor have them coming so it's my first kitchen staple. It's decent sized and was under $20 which made me even happier! well I have to go start dinner now bye bye

shibuya, tokyo

Okay, so I went to shibuya the other night and it was amazing. Right now I'm amazingly tired too.
It was a little rainy that night but fun nonetheless. When I exited the massively packed train station ( which was super hot cuz of all the body heat) the frist thing I saw was lights. Lights like you've never seen. New York City has nothing on Tokyo, I believe there were 3 two story jumbo televisions whereas NYC has one in front of MTV studios. Shibuya is famous for its 'pedestrian scramble' which is the busiest cross section of streets in the world. Hundreds of people cross this street every few minutes, there are so many people that when the cross sign turns green you can't even see the street anymore. Cars were stuck in between people it was so busy. Well as I crossed the sea of people I went into a book store called Seibu. Which is more than just a book store with its 6 stories up full of dvds, cd's, games, magazines, books plus a starbucks and another cafe. They have even more in the basement!! I essentially went to Shibuya to accompany my new friend Cindy to a YesJapan meetup. So we killed time at the Honya til it was time to meet everyone. The meeting place was set at the statue of Hachiko the dog. Which is a famous place to meet people young and old. The only problem we had was we were looking for some japanese people whose face I wasn't familiar with in an epicenter of japanese people. quite the perdicament... anyway we found them after many phone calls ( its really loud so it was hard to hear) and headed off to Shakey's Pizza to get started on the greetings.

A little something

I don't really have much to say right now, been studying japanese and forgot that I did in fact take a few pics from around the house with my phone. The drinks are from the vending machine in my building. The brown one is milk tea, which is delicious. The other im not sure what its called but it was an unpleasant surprise for me to say the least. Note the spoon in the picture of the orange can, i wasn't sure what that meant. Well it means that there is orange jello in the can. I was quite thirsty when I bought this, and to my choking surprise there were chunks in it. Yea, you see the unpleasant part to this? Try drinking jello after walking all day up and down hill in humidity. blegh. The other picture is from one of my many windows, specifically my kitchen. This is what I see. To everyone in Arizona thats what a tree looks like. A real tree! And grass too!! lol

im back, kinda

I have been really bored and busy since I didn't have internet. I will admit I have been slacking majorly. Not one picture has been taken during my off time.. shame I know but I will compensate eventually.. I guess lol.

I have indeed moved into my new place,I have a high rise in ikego hills. That means no dog, and possibly no bunny from what I read in the guide book, but that will be debated later with the housing office for some clarification. In the guide book it states that no wild or exotic animals can be kept as pets such as rabbits, ferrets, tarantulas, etc. But are they talking wild bunnies or domesticated bunnies? I can have two cats if I want but not a bunny?

Continuing I have been just renting movies from the mini mart to get by till now. I walk everywhere and my shoes show it, and kinda smell it... anyway the weather can't make up its mind. It's pouring rain one day then the sun is shining the next.

I've got my japanese cell phone now as well, i will put up pics soon i hope.

Small recap of my week so far

our first day in japan together

has been amazing!! i was pretty tired but it was worth it! we walked around base for about three hours getting acquainted with our surroundings then back to the hotel for a nap. my feet were killing me from yesterday and todays amount of walking but it was fine. after the nap we went out to the town of yokosuka off base. everyone is incredibly nice!! we went to the conbini aka 7-11 for dinner, didnt take pics but it was delicious, cheap, and filling-at least for me. we continued walking through town and went into a small hyaku yen or 100yen store then a cosmetic drugstore~~ ill def be back there. we then walked a lil more to find someplace to sit and eat. then husband was still hungry so we stopped into a 24 hour donburi resturant! amazing! sugeiiiiiiii! it was one of the places where there is a was display with the food choices and you then pay a machine and give your ticket to the waitress. husband loved the food. he was full after both meals but not uncomfortably so, the food was very lite. at the last minute i remembered to take some pics and a short vid. i will also update later with pics of some of the money~~ matane minna san!!! oyasumi!!

in japan

well its five in the morning for me but 1pm in AZ and im still kinda stuck on that time. im in my hotel on base and just counting the minutes til i can see my husband. japanese tv is super amusing i see why america steals their ideas. hahahaha lol anyways im gonna try to sleep

goodnight/morning

mini haul, life update

well this post will have to be updated with pics later

haul 9/16/08
Too Faced candy bar in thin mints
Loreal H.I.P jelly balm in savory
Maybelline colossal volume express mascara in glam black
and paper soap- yes you read it correct paper soap.

Laura and I made a little trip to Beauty Brands because we've never been and I've had this nagging in the back of my mind to do it before I leave. So we went after we picked up a new kennel for her lovely doggy bella!! Beauty Brands is basically like Ulta with less makeup. The main focus I foumd was hair, skin, and nails. Though they do carry cosmetics its not that large a selection from what I could gather at the location I went to. There I picked up the Too Faced for instead of regular retail of $24.50 but for around $8 and some change along with the paper soap.
Think Listerine strips but with soap and you don't eat it! lol- just a disclaimer. That cost about $2 for a 50pack. not bad eh?

Well after that we stopped at a Walgreens where I got the other two items along with a travel pillow and pillow cases for my long international flight ahead of me. Also the reason I got the soap!

Onto the life portion, well I thought I had my flight situation taken care of but I was given less than desirable flight dates. So that was rectified and I should be leaving the 25th of this month so around that time frame I might not update to much but I will def try to document!! Also tomorrow I have a meeting on base to get my stuff moved from point A here to point B not here lol jk Japan if you haven't been keeping up!!

So I guess I'm off to hunt for batteries for my camera and to pack my clothes and such for my upcoming busy week!! til next time!!

Journey to Mesa

Today was quite the productive day, if I may say so myself! lol andi do~~ anyway
I got my household goods situation taken care of, as well as my flight status stuff kinda taken care of. I should be getting a conformation email tomorrow afternoon so I can email my sponsor! Well onto the journey. After finding out that my friend Laura is indeed going to Japan as well we got all our paperwork sorted has some nasty subway sandwich then took off to Mesa to get my phone fixed and or replaced. About an hour or so later we found ourselves at the mall where the only ATT device center was in Arizona(guess you found where we went) well, as soon as we dropped my phone off we bee-lined it to the puppies and bunnies and such, which of course were amazingly cute but cost rent of a decent apartment out here. Then we perused the trendy clothing stores in which we made purchases. From Charlotte Russe I got a zebra scarf and some nice leggings in a dark violet and an opaque pair in black but were textured. Later today we stopped into a M.A.C pro store and I popped lauras M.A.C cherry so to speak! I didn't go crazy, all i got was some fix+ because I was out and Japan is mighty humid. We then wondered into the fabulous Saks 5th Ave and were lemming all the wonderful things it had to offer such as Louis Vuitton, Christian Loubouton, Gucci, Prada.. the list is endless but as we are moving, we didn't need any extra baggage or expenditures that weren't duely warrented. After we were all tired out we still managed to go to the Japanese market and pick up some snacks. We felt we needed a reward for our hard days work, don't you? lol, well i forgot to take pictures of my makeup today but I will list some of the products used

Face
eucerine daily mosturizer with spf30
everyday minerals- deep tan
peachy blush- mac

Eyes
Urban Decay Primer Potion
some noname avon peachy color
poste haste-mac
bark-mac
blacktrack fluidline-mac

Lips
chapstick
viva glam V

Sorry I will try and be more diligent about it next time around~~

Just another day

Today was rather boring, I went to get my cars oil changed and played the wonderful mmorpg called Maplestory. Before I get into detail about the game, may I add I've lost countless hours of productive time and sleep playing this game. Its unbearable cute or as the japanese would say suupa kawaii!

MapleStory is an online computer game first developed by the South Korean company Wizet in 2003. It is a side-scrolling, 2D MMORPG. It is client-based, which means that you must download the software in order to play the game. The software can be downloaded at the official MapleStory website. However, at almost 800MB, it is advisable to use a download manager to download the game. MapleStory is completely free to register and play, although there is a "Cash Shop" where players can use real-world money to buy items that aren't available through the in-game currency, Mesos.

The game does not contain any gross violence or extremely frightening monsters. Beginners find that the game is not dark or violent, and that the environment is actually a sunny, friendly place with small snails and mushrooms as some of the monsters. Overall, gameplay is fairly simple: attack monsters, gain levels, attack stronger monsters. As players spend time in game level up, they can equip new weapons and clothes, gain more Mesos, and interact with others. Participants can also receive tasks, known as quests, from NPCs (Non-Player Characters) to earn additional rewards.

Several versions of the game are available for specific countries or regions, and each is published by various companies. There are localized versions for South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, South East Asia, Europe, Hong Kong, Brazil, and Vietnam. All other players play on the Global version. Within each version are various "worlds" that characters exist in. Players may create up to three characters in each world. In most versions, characters, items, and Mesos are not transferable between worlds, but Global added the ability to transfer characters between worlds with a Cash Shop item.

Although beginners may at first think the game is all about leveling up and hunting monsters, MapleStory is also a place to socialize. With the Maple Messenger, buddy lists, and guilds, MapleStory is a typical MMORPG, where users don't always have to hunt monsters and level up; they can take a break and chat whenever and to whomever they like.

Flights,Phones and Furniture

So I have been in contact with the guy whose getting my flight booked and my passport sent to me. He's sounded like he just wanted me off the phone, so he could talk to whoever he was having his oh so interesting conversation with while taking my information. I don't think he even sent my stuff to passport and transportation but, I will be calling them promptly after this post. well blah on him!! lol

My phone has been acting up for weeks now, but I really don't want to go to all the way to Mesa to fix it. I was told it was a software problem and a master reset would fix it, but when I called the warranty line the associate just wanted to replace it but, that would entail that awful trip to Mesa.

While all these problems are still arising, I'm still waiting on my POA- what POA you ask yourself? Power of Attorney. I need that to get started on moving our belongings to Japan.
This whole waiting thing is really annoying but I guess it comes with the job description and I'm gonna have to suck it up and go with it. oh well til the next crisis~~~

New Blog for me

In this blog I will be relaying my adventures as a new navy wife and also my addiction to the beauty industry be it cosmetics, fashion, style or anything I love it and want to re immerse myself within it. I will update on the newest trends in my new place of residence which will be the wonderful country of Japan!! You read right ladies and gents off to the Land of the Rising Sun for this new military bride and thus the beginning of my adventure.
