Lately

I have started working out recently with my friend nina and her frienemy of sorts. Thats a whole different story for another entry. Well we go to the gym at 7pm every day except duty days so about 5-6 days a week we will be there. Im starting to feel better about myself in the health aspect. We did end up going to MacDonalds after because we were starving after 2 hours of intense working out lol, but we got salads and went light on the dressing and had water instead of soda so I dont think it was too bad. I also had my English teachers networking meeting as well. The company that presented, had me very interested. Alas they require a B.A or an B.S I believe, and I have neither. So I'm still on the quest for students and or that perfect company for me. There is an open modeling gig tomorrow so, I'm gonna check it out. Its requirments ar to be black or white. I think I'm covered right? lol. Anyway, its late and I have to pick up hubby in the morning. I hate duty days...

Unsure

I feel like I'm having something of an identity crisis here. I'm at a loss with what to do with my thick, coarse, tightly curled hair. For years before I could make the decision for myself consciously I would get my hair relaxed because that is what the mass media has force fed into everyone's mind. curly hair= bad long straight hair=good. As a result of multiple chemical treatments my hair was drier, very brittle and seemed to not grow at the same rate or even at all. Well I made the decision last March to stop relaxing my hair and it's been somewhat beneficial to me. I also stopped using shampoo, since it made my hair very frizzy and harder to comb. Since my decision I've had my hair in braids and also my first salon done "weave" which was all well and good til I moved and had nobody to do it out here. Now I have almost none of the relaxed hair and its all new 'healthy' hair, but I have no idea how to handle it. Its almost impossible to comb without massive amounts of baby detangler , moisturizing hair dress, and hair oil. But even then it just turns into an Afro. I am not down with and afro, at all. But what other choice do I have? I know nobody who will braid it or anything, its getting to the point where I want to say to hell with it and shave my head but I would regret that like no other. So where does that leave me? With society propegating long shiny hair is what is acceptable what am I left to do. I don't want to relax my hair, I would end up right back here again. Straightening it every day would lead to the same damage so I don't do anything. I would wear hats but I look bald since my hair is so curly and short. Whenever I leave I either comb it into a tiny puffy pony tail and slap a bandana on top but that can only do so much. I feel like I have no options. I dunno, I feel that I would look weird and convey the wrong message about myself if I had an afro. Its just not who I am. I mean I am scared of large groups of black people for goodness sakes!!

So far

I've been M.IA. for a bit I know, but there is a reason that also includes laziness. I've been working on getting a job teaching English to Japanese Nationals. This weekend I shadowed an established English class. It was quite the learning experience. Also, I have a meeting with the English teachers networking group coming up, in which I was informed could be very beneficial seeing as how some of the big English teaching companies will be present trying to fill spots for newly acquired teaching contracts. I forgot to take a pic of my outfit n make up for that day so no new photos yet. I might decide to play with some of my mac that's been neglected... we will see. So for now that is all I have to give.

Forever 21 mini Hual(1/8/09) Drug Store mini Haul(1/10/09)

So I got my F21 package on the 8th!! They are very efficient might I add. I ordered on the 31st of December, and it was shipped the same day. I was told 7-10 business days. Well as you all know, NYE was among us this past week and I still got it before the 10day mark. Gotta love efficiency.
Now onto the haul.

I got a purple turtle neck sweater

A tee shirt

And a cute bow belt

me on my birthday wearing the turtleneck

Now onto my other haul. I wanted to try out a new cleanser so I picked up Softymo Speedy
Cleansing Milk.

I also picked up under eye patches. Since I always get to bed late and wake up fairly early, I've noticed a slight dullness to my under eye area so I decided to try something out to combat it.

I picked up this scarf last minute at the 100yen store believe it or not. Its cute and it gets the job done. Still on the lookout for more scarves though. Its my new addiction along side over the knee socks!!

the past few days

Have been busy kind of..

Husband and I went to Kamakura to visit the shrines for new years day so here are a few photos from that excursion

Here's hubby and me going home on the train

I now official own my kitty!! - just thought I would share that.
Also, I've started trying out this whole teaching thing by helping my friend Laura with Japanese. We had a lesson the other night and it went well. Although the same day i developed a painful ear ache. Which turns out not to be an infection, yay. But I've been sick for about a month now and my nose has been congested even though i can breath normally and everything. My body is trying to drain the congestion through my ears now, so its putting pressure on my eardrum hence the ache..

well here is a pic of what I wore yesterday...
